Motorists in Rugby are being urged to support a charity car wash and help babies and young children with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses.
The call comes from the Heart of England Co-operative Society which is holding its 10th annual charity car wash in aid of it chosen charity – Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice.
Based in Coventry the hospice takes in babies and young children aged up to five years from Coventry and Warwickshire, the Midlands and beyond.
It is the Midlands’ only dedicated facility for babies and young children and operates under the policy of never turning a child away as long as it can provide the most appropriate care.
Supported by a wider network of family and friends, staff at The Co-operative Funeralcare funeral home in Bilton Road will roll up their sleeves in a quest to raise much needed funds for the charity – the Society’s nominated cause for 2019.
Every penny raised will be put towards the hospice’s quest to keep its doors open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Paul Rowden, Assistant Funeral Services Manager at the Heart of England Co-operative Society, which operates a network of 13 funeral homes across Coventry, Warwickshire, south Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, said: “Once again we are looking forward to our annual charity car wash which over the past decade has raised money for some fantastic causes.
“Every year this event manages to attract a lot of motorists from Rugby and further afield, some of whom are fantastic supporter, bringing two or three cars to us during the course of the day.
“There is a real community spirit at this event which is well supported by the people of Rugby year in, year out, and we really do appreciate their generosity.”
The car wash takes place at The Co-operative Funeralcare, 38 Bilton Road, Rugby, CV22 7AL on Saturday August 17th, from 10am to 2pm. Hot food and refreshments will be available and staff are asking for a minimum £5 donation per vehicle.
