THE CO-OPERATIVE FUNERALCARE ORGANISES CHARITY CAR WASH TO SUPPORT ZOË’S PLACE BABY HOSPICE

Tuesday, August 7, 2018

Staff at The Co-operative Funeralcare in Rugby are holding their ninth annual charity car wash to help babies and young children with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses.

Every penny raised from the event will go to Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry – the Midlands’ only dedicated facility for babies and young children up to the age of five.

Supported by a wider network of family and friends, staff at the funeral home will roll up their sleeves in a quest to raise much needed funds for the charity – the Society’s nominated cause for 2018 – which faces an ongoing challenge of generating enough income to keep its doors open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Peter Pickering, Funeral Services Manager at the Heart of England Co-operative Society, which operates a network of 13 funeral homes across Coventry, Warwickshire, south Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, said: “Once again we are delighted to host our annual charity car wash which is in aid of an excellent cause.

“Every year this event manages to attract a lot of people, some of whom come back to us two or three times in different cars during the course of the day. Their support is fantastic and we really do appreciate it.”

The car wash takes place at The Co-operative Funeralcare, 38 Bilton Road, Rugby, CV22 7AL on Saturday, August 18th, from 10am to 2pm. Hot food and refreshments will be available and staff are asking for a minimum £5 donation per vehicle.
